Ten reasons why Bakersfield makes me happy:

1. Watching Chronicles of Narnia for 50 cents.
2. Fresh Choice.
3. Having the room upgraded to the penthouse suite so I had a king bed to myself. With six pillows.
4. Freshly made waffles with a light sprinkling of powdered sugar.
5. Everything being in such close proximity.
6. Cheaper tax.
7. 두레 마을.
8. Thunderstorms.
9. Having the fitness room to myself.
10. The veggie sandwich from Too Fat Sandwiches.

The week in review:

-I finally realized on Wednesday that my calendar had incorrectly printed the dates of Good Friday and Easter. Good Friday was not yesterday, the 24th, and Easter Sunday is not on the 26th. It's the feeling that occurs right after your ears *pop* after being plugged all day long. Except in my case, it was for the past two months. I feel like something like this would only happen to me.

-I'm prohibited from returning to my internship for the next two weeks because I was caught working before I was cleared of the mandatory government security background check. It's the first time anyone's been caught in the past six years. Again, I feel like this is something that would only happen to me.

-I witnessed my first criminal trial. The defendant was found guilty on all counts charged and was sentenced to life without parole and an additional 90 years. I realized that I do not wish to ever become a defense attorney. Or, more specifically, be one against the DAs of the Hardcore Gang Unit. I also heard more profanity this past week than I've heard altogether since I returned from Europe in January 2005.

-It was my 외할머니's 85th birthday on Thursday. My 외할머니 is one of the most important people in my life. I wrote about how much of an inspiration she is to me for my undergrad college application essay, but freakin Mr. Raabe told me not to submit it. One reason why I wanted to get married asap and pop out five children in near consecutive order was so that they would all have the opportunity to experience what an amazing, generous, and beautiful person she is.

-I finally saw a picture of the esoteric Cisco and was pleasantly surprised. Hurrah for dimples and spaghetti. Boo for shortness and finickiness with food.

<3 the Brits.

Saturday, February 25, 2006

How did I not know that there were 28 days in the month of February? And how is it that Taylor, who is only 9 years old, not only knows this but corrects me when I claim that this year is the leap year?

Sigh.

Happy 1st Birthday, Dane! I can't wait to see you become a genius professional golf player. =]

Happy Silver Anniversary, 엄마 and 아빠!

Father: "And for our 50th anniversary, we can..."
Mother: "You! What 50th?! We're not going to be alive then."

Me: "엄마, I really think you and 아빠 should go eat dinner together."
Mother: "아니 아니, 싫어! No romantic!"

So do I put all my eggs into one basket? Do I take that risky leap of faith? Do I have that much confidence in myself, that much endurance, that much stamina?

Honestly, what the hell am I supposed to do?

And why isn't it raining yet?!

"Oohrah."

Even though neither a boy nor in the Marines, I like this word a lot.

My late resolutions for 2006.

1. Less ipop, more God.
2. Start to eat fish outside of the sushi setting. [Who knew it was so healthy for you?]
3. Scrapbooks.
4. Make face lighter or rest of body darker.
5. Resign myself to the idea of sweating. [Hence working out until I sweat, rather than working out until the point I'm about to sweat.]
6. Make one pot of 된장찌개 after 4+ years of Sewon trying to teach me.
7. Become a book whore.
8. Eat breakfast on a continuous basis.
9. Wake up in time to eat breakfast on a continuous basis.
10. Learn to type properly... or enough to not look at fingers while typing.
11. Visit 할머니들 more often.
12. Drink more milk because I really really need to grow two more inches.
13. Travel out of California.
14. Less procrastination.
15. Respond to emails and voicemails in a timely manner. Pick up phone calls.

I wish blogger offered the option of inserting smiley faces like xanga or aim. Sometimes, they're just the bit more expressive =] you need.

The movie. [insert aim toothy grin]

"The lesson that Nanny McPhee teaches the children, is that love is the thing that really matters, love is the thread that binds us, love is what makes the world go round." -E. Thompson.

My friends are thinking about retirement plans, 1099s, IRAs, mortgages, purchasing homes, purchasing cars for their parents, worrying about taxes, and I, I think about what I should eat for lunch today or what book I should read.

This is life.

It feels wrong to be considered as one of two of your friend's "smart" friends. I couldn't disagree more.

I can't wait to have babies and just sit and watch them all day long.

Tuxie ran away today and has now been missing for over 4 hours. Obstinate, freakin smart cat. I hope he comes back soon. =/
